Golden retrievers are extremely social dogs and are happiest when they get to spend all of their time with their people. Because Golden's thrive on individual attention we have decided to adopt a guardian home program. This gives awesome families the opportunity to own a top quality golden at a significantly reduced price as well as being a part of Em's Goldens and bringing Joy to other families.
Guardian homes allows each of our Golden's to grow up in there forever homes rather than waiting until after retiring from their breeding career. This ensures each of these amazing dogs are living their life to the fullest from the very beginning.
This program provides us with the ability to continue our breeding program without compromising on the equality of care or amount of individual attention each golden receipts.
Guardian homes receive a top of the line golden to be a member of their family at a significantly reduced price.
Females are placed into families with a deposit of $1,000. These families will receive $250 back each time she has a litter. Females are in contract for up to four litters or until their 5th birthday.
Males are placed with a deposit of $2,000. Their families will receive $150 every time he is used for breeding. Males are in contract until they are 6 years old.
At the end of the breeding contract the golden will be spayed or neutered at Em's Golden's cost and will remain with the guardian home as a member of their family.

~ have a completely fenced yard
~ be willing to continue feeding a balanced raw diet
~ be able to provide transport to the vet for health testing (this will include initial health testing usually done just after the dog's second birthday, annual health testing and prior to breeding blood work)
~ be willing to provide transport to my home or an agreed upon meeting location for breeding purposes
~ be able to provide regular updates including pictures and videos as well as possible in person meetings
~ for females guardian families need to be aware and inform Em's Goldens when they come into heat
~ guardian homes are responsible for regular maintenance cost such as food, titer testing, vaccines, toys and other costs related to owning a pet
Em's Goldens will be responsible for all health costs related to breeding. This will include DNA testing, OFA testing, Pennhip testing and brucellosis testing. For females this will include ultrasounds and x-rays. For males this will include collection costs.
Em's Goldens will be responsible for final spay or neuter costs.
Em's Goldens is responsible for breeding, whelping and raising the litters.
